A kit will have the specialized tools (i.e. what a typical mechanically included home owner won't have) required to install the supplied barrel. It won't come with a general purpose tool like a vise. Some of the wildcat barrel kits also have formed cases. Please see the description for each kit as to what excactly is included.

Also included with some Savage kits are magazines and replacement bolt heads. (For example a 223 bolt head may be provided with a 223 barrel to facilitate a barrel swap on a standard caliber (e.g. 308) action.
