Probably more has been written about Mausers than any other firearm in history. I dont think anything needs to be added here. There are books, videos and plenty of web sites to consult if you want to follow the tradition of "sporterizing" a mauser. I did it (30 years ago) and while it no longer makes economic sense, it is a safe and enjoyable way to learn about basic rifle gunsmithing.
