Warning on stainless steel actions.....

I don't have any experience with stainless steel actions. The following was pulled off various web groups: Because of the characteristics of stainless steel (SS) there is a high danger of thread galling which could result in a barrel "stuck" half into a SS action. This is especially true with stainless steel barrels. Therefore, we recommend that you don't mess with re-barreling and instead use a gunsmith with the equipment and knowledge to at least salvage the action if this happens. (Sometimes they have to cut the barrel and bore the stub out of the action on a lathe.)

ALWAYS use a light coating of anti-seize compound like loctite" Never-Sieze" on barrel threads to minimize the chance that this happens with any type of action.
